A timed personal, solo project of 8 weeks.
I 3D modeled all objects, made UV's, hand-painted textures, created materials, and implemented into Unreal Engine. Throughout the process, I got to learn more about UE4 materials/shaders, lighting, prop integration, Substance Painting, and more through self-taught means.
This project really helped me understand how to create a tight and concise level that still retains new paths to explore with a central point always visible so getting lost is a non-factor. Additionally, I got very familiar with the material editor, allowing me to understand and create new assets such as the glowing sigil decals throughout the level, moving grass and petals, WPO effected models, a proto-water shader that eventually evolved into another project, and more!
